What’s new:
As we get closer to seeing more of the 2023 Ford Expedition, we expect to see updates both inside and outside but maybe not as much as the full redo in 2022. There is speculation that the Platinum Max will be pulling out all the stops this year so we’re excited to learn more about what this SUV is going to bring to the table. Here’s what we know so far about the 2023 Ford expedition.
Engine options:
The engine options should be the same as the 2022 edition but it is rumored that a 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6 engine with 430 hp and 570 lb-fts of torque might be in the works, too. The hybrid engine comes with a twin-turbo and pumps out 400 hp so we expect to see even more for the Timberline.
Trims & Price:
Without a lot of confirmed prices for each trim, we only have an idea of what the range will look like. We do know however, that the base and top Platinum Max will range at about: $51,000- $80,000.
Tech:
There’s hope that there will be an updated center stack with a huge, portrait touchscreen that will double as an infotainment hub and stand as high as 15.5-inches. There might also be a revised digital instrument cluster and new vents. We’re excited to see how this will enhance the driving experience!
Interior & Exterior:
Some of the sneak peeks we’ve seen reveal large cargo space inside with 3 rows of seats, power-folding seats and wood/leather trim throughout. Higher trims are likely to offer satin/aluminum exterior trim. The front seats are also ventilated with massaging features.
For the exterior, we can report that the 2023 Ford Expedition will be a force to be reckoned with by the looks of it. The Platinum is also likely to offer a roof raile with bars and some other high quality amenities. It also looks taller judging by the rear suspension and stronger-looking lower swing arm. Skid plates hint at some plans for tailoring this truck for the off-road and wheels that resemble the 2021 Timberline are also present. There is also a hint that new headlights, grille, lower fascia and bumpers will give it an all-around new look. The latest prototype reveals Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires, a dual-exhaust system and maybe some black-light lenses in a variety of colors.
Additional Packages:
We’re eager to take a look into some of the additional packages that will be offered for lower trims to help you tailor your perfect 2023 Ford Expedition. Some include a heavy-duty trailer crane pack, all-terrain tires, an upgraded radiator and surround camera system. An electronic limited-slip differential, FX4 off-road pack, trailer back-up assist, skid plate & fuel guard and a trailer brake controller are just some features of what we hope to see at the reveal.
Conclusion:
We are excited for the 2023 Ford Explorer, we like the looks of what we’ve seen so far. Updated technology, an assortment of packages and lots of new features throughout make us eager to update you as soon as we know more.
